Bollywood congratulates Karan Johar on becoming a father

Late last night, reports surfaced that Karan Johar had become a single father to a pair of twins through surrogacy last month. Later, the 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' director confirmed the news by offering a statement on his Twitter profile. Karan expressed his gratitude to the surrogate who helped fulfil his "lifelong dream" and that she will always remain in his prayers. The baby boy is named Yash after Karan's father, and the girl will be called Roohi, a rearrangement of his mother's name Hiroo. 

At the launch of his memoir - 'An Unsuitable Boy' in January, he had expressed his desire to become a father in the future, and also went on to state that his 'Student of the Year' stars - Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra, are like his children.
Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan, who also co-star in Karan's latest production 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania' took to Twitter to wish him on this joyous occasion.

Alia tweeted, "Finally I can say I have a younger brother AND sister!!!!!! So so so happy❤❤❤ soo much love to give uff bursting with joy!!!!!" 



Varun posted, "Karan your the best human being I know and Im sure you will make the best dad.Can't wait to meet these lil munchkins" 

With wishes pouring in by the second for Karan, the duo join the long list of other celebrities who have also wished the filmmaker on his newfound parenthood.
Director-choreographer Farah Khan tweeted, "Glad u took my advice seriously @karanjohar Best thing to happen to you.. n theyll b the youngest people you hang out with so all's good 😄"  



Priyanka Chopra, Sushant Singh Rajput, Tusshar Kapoor, Sonali Bendre, Ronit Roy, Riteish Deshmukh, Rana Daggubati Vir Das wished Karan, among many others.
